Andrea (“Andie”) Mackin
Strategic Partnerships • Destination Marketing • PR and Communications
Andie brings 25+ years of success in non-profit management, marketing, and strategic communications to the Revitalization Partnership. An experienced leader with the National Trust Main Street Program, she led the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association’s Main Street Program in creating public‐private partnerships, brokering economic revitalization, and providing community advocacy for the downtown business community. Her participation in the 2010 Washington State Legislative session on behalf of the Washington State Main Street Program received a National Leadership Award from the National Trust Main Street Program. Andie has worked closely with local and regional municipal partners including the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, U S Rural Development Authority, U S Small Business Administration, Washington State Department of Commerce, Trade and Economic Development, Kitsap Economic Development Alliance, and City of Bainbridge Island. As past Director of Marketing & Operations for the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce, Andie created award‐winning destination marketing campaigns for the Chamber and Bainbridge Island Tourism Alliance. She was a core team member of the 2011 WINSLOW STREET SMARTS “Small Town. Big Heart” community branding campaign, and recently produced a regional tourism video in partnership with KOMO-TV for visitbainbridge.com. A Northwest native and 16‐year Bainbridge Island resident, Andie is mother of four active teenagers.

Mark Askew
Interior Design • Visual Merchandising and Display • Store Design and Planning
A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City with a BA in Interior Design, he started his career assisting in event planning and design for Studio 54 and Limelight nightclubs. Mark brings 25 years of experience working with some of the industry’s leading fashion retailers and design firms. His career consists of domestic and international store design/planning for Estee Lauder, Walker Group/CNI, and Limited Brands along with conceptual design and visual merchandising for retailers including Old Navy Stores, Universal Studios Orlando, Dorians Mexico, The Great Indoors and Banana Republic. While at Limited Brands, he completed upwards of 65 store roll-outs per year, produced design elements as well as maintained store brand integrity for Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, Structure and Express stores. Mark was instrumental in creating store design prototypes and fixturing concepts for Abercrombie & Fitch and Limited Too stores, with the latter being featured in several domestic and international trade publications for excellence in design and ultimately being named best store renovation by Display and Design Ideas magazine. While his first passion is store design, he has worked for top interior designers and assisted in designing high-end residential environments for several celebrity clients. He became a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) in 2006. Currently a Bainbridge Island resident, Mark brings his nationally honed design expertise and vision to the Revitalization Partnership.

Michael Read
Public Outreach • Facilitation • Information Architecture
Michael brings 16 years of experience in urban design, public policy, and communications. He is an expert at developing communications and public involvement strategies for public improvement projects, including the 2011 Winslow Way Reconstruction Public Information and Marketing Campaign. Michael’s experience includes producing stakeholder workshops and facilitated discussion groups, and crafting compelling documents that describe transportation, urban design, planning, and public policy issues. Local clients include Winslow Street Smarts, the City of Seattle, Washington State Ferries, Health Housing and Human Services Council, and Puget Sound Energy. In addition to his current role in the Revitalization Partnership, Michael maintains a residence in Vancouver, British Columbia, and continues to consult as a founding partner of Read Wagoner LLC in Seattle, Washington.

Sarah Wen
Small Business Marketing • Social Media • Promotion and Event Planning
Sarah is an expert at small business marketing, with a strong connection to main street merchants.
She has strong peer‐to‐peer networking experience as a former Bainbridge Island Downtown Association (BIDA) Board Member, and collaborator on BIDA’s award‐winning, nationally recognized ‘Buy Local’ campaign. Sarah brings more than 10 years of marketing experience that includes branding, logo development, ad campaigns, print collateral, web design, social media campaigns, creative design, product and packaging expertise. She was a core‐team member of Winslow Street Smarts, the 2011 Winslow Way Reconstruction Public Information and Marketing Campaign. A California native, Sarah has embraced the island lifestyle as past‐ owner of Kennedy & Kate, a specialty retail boutique in downtown Bainbridge Island, and mother of 2‐year old boy.

Lisa Nelson Newland Community Assessment • Cultural Arts • Project Management
As Cultural Arts Coordinator for the City of Everett, Lisa knows what it takes to create and market a successful destination event for tens of thousands of people. A former researcher and writer for Destination Development International, she has conducted secret shops in town, counties and regions around the Northwest, investigating and assessing the tourism market to identify new opportunities for destination travel. As Marketing Manager for the Callison Partnership, Lisa helped establish graphics standards and marketing strategies for the 300‐person architecture firm specializing in global retail and destination resort design. Her talent for developing systems led to a 5‐year role with fashion retail giant Nordstrom, Inc. as Contracts Manager for Architecture & Store Planning. Lisa’s commitment to local preservation includes board roles with the SeaDoc Society and Schack Art Center, a multi‐use regional arts center in downtown Everett. She is also the proud mother of two grown boys.
